Yikes, this is getting real.
My dissertation made it through the internal committee and is now off to the external. Defense dates have been suggested. And there’s pretty much exactly one afternoon that looks possible in mid March. We’re now just waiting on confirmation from the external that she can make that time/date. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. If it happens, I’ll have almost 2 weeks to get everything sorted out and submitted for the deadline. If it doesn’t, then it looks really iffy for making the deadline.
It’s hard to really get excited and going on this, until we have that confirmation. But once we do, it’ll be time to start thinking about preparing my final seminar. Re-reading my dissertation. Double and triple checking that I know and understand my related work. And keeping my fingers crossed that I don’t end up so nervous on the day that I can’t think straight. Oh I so want to be done.
And, of course, there’s what feels like a zillion things on my plate this month (and likely next). The start-up is officially launched. We’re hitting up some teacher conventions and keeping our fingers crossed for a boost in sales. There’s a bunch of business plan competitions that we should be entering, and so are busy re-writing our business plan for. And, of course, there are always new bug fixes we catch and just more learning about making a web app scalable.
Oh, and I still need to get those three papers that I mentioned in my dissertation as submitted to be, well, submitted. One is in now, one is with my supervisor for edits, and the third is still currently on my plate for edits. Time to get focused.
